Re: NR's Sulla

See? More with the lies. They're not 14, they're 24. I've even chatted with them on facebook. But of course anything to smear one's opponents, even going so low to call them a pedophile.

This place is sickening.

Re: NR's Sulla

Is this thread for real? Marius' seem to be bona fide, but Piscinus' is an outright lie. I worked with that man on his Consular staff, and almost nothing that man said was true. Not to mention those "underage girls" that he mentioned are older than me. They're mature women, not "li...

Re: Nova Xi'an ?

Well, Nova Roma explicitly forswears any recurrence to non peaceful means in the pursuit of their goal of an independent and sovereign state. So, I can have little moral objections to that, but it makes them seem pretty inconsequential to say the least. Romans, of all people, who forswear any recur...

Re: Expats from Nova Roma

Remember that the Vatican is headquarters to a church of over a billion members, compared to how many tens of religio practioners? NR demanding a vatican sized "forum" is somewhat akin to a 1st day piano student demanding a venue similar to the Albert Hall to perform his finger exercises...

Re: Expats from Nova Roma

Important point. How can a micro-nation exist? Only as (a) an underground organization, hidden and subversive, or (b) as a 'second nation', which is to say a sodality or minority within the de facto state. Originally what Cassius the Founder had in mind was something akin to what the Vatican has...

Re: Expats from Nova Roma

Salve, Poplicole - Nice to see you still can find the time to drop in here. Vale bene. Poplicola in vocativo est "Poplicola" non "Poplicole". And I stop by time and time again, mostly reading the various threads here. I'm not a huge RP fan, so there's not so much here I ca...

As Quaestor of Nova Roma overseeing the event, I can confirm this and am excited to see it happen. I will hope that many here will join.

Re: Expats from Nova Roma

Salvete Omnes! I apologise for being rather derelict in my duties. A curator is supposed to be a greeter, and I have not ventured into this area of the forum much lately. So please accept my elated 'Welcome' Marcella. I'm aware there are several people who maintain membership in both groups. B...

Agnostos Theos

"Sive deus sive dea" was meant to not offend whichever form the deity took. Their language was gendered, so they didn't want to offend a female deity by calling her "deus", and vice versa.

Re: Starting Religio Romana

While I was not fortunate enough to have been born in Florida, my bother and sister were. I still have family in Florence now. Ciao, bella!

Re: Starting Religio Romana

By "Greek Religion" you mean Burkett's? If so, that's a great text. I highly recommend it. Also try to get Beard, Price, and North's Religions of Rome (or something similar to that title). It's also top notch.

So sorry for being so short, I'm extremely busy at the moment.

Re: Starting Religio Romana

Also, much of my research in these past couple of months have focused on Greek religion as well as Roman. I've noticed some surprising similarities, but essentially Roman/Italic religions were distinct from the Greek ones. As for pouring of libations, offering food, and sacrifices, they're the same,...

Re: Another New Person

Salve, Sempronia. Some of us are in the religious side both here and there, so if you need any questions on it, please feel free to ask. I'd be glad to help.
