It appears that discussion on the proposed name changes has run its course. I will now create polls for each collegium to gauge the sense of the Comitia for each proposed change.

Salve Avite,

I did not know that you were not yet registered when I began the thread in the Comitia. I hope that you will register upon returning from your holiday and will participate in all our discussions.

Salvete omnes, My personal view is that we should adopt all of Avitus' new names except that we should NOT move literature to the Collegium Litterarum. First, literature is undoubtedly one of the major media of art that has come down to us. To remove it from the Collegium Artium would eviscerat...

Proposed Name Changes for the Collegia

Salvete omnes, Our new member Avitus has suggested changing the names of our collegia. For his reasoning, please read his post in each individual collegium. Discussion of possible name changes should take place in the Comitia since such changes must reflect the collective will of the sodales. ...

Italian Province

Our new sodalis, Marcus Salix Corax, has suggested the creation of a new Province for sodales of Italian descent. Membership would not be dependent on residence in Italy. And frankly, sodales having an interest in Italic studies or who wish to practice their Italian would welcome although they mig...

Salvete omnes, The motion is carried. Piscine, please approach your contacts in Academia Thules to inform them of SVR's interest in collaboration. I propose that Piscinus also continue as the sole negotiator with AT, understanding that he will keep the Comitia fully informed during the co...

Salve Mari, Good. Since it's possible, let's continue to discuss whether it would be worth doing. I've never been a webmaster, but it seems to me that we can resolve the two issues that you raise. First, listening to all the sounds could be voluntary rather than automatic. E.g., "Click here...

SVR Sounds

Mari, in 2004 we discussed the idea of including sound files at our site. Piscinus suggested that Respighi's Fountains of Rome might play as the main page is opened, that each collegium might have its own music, that we could include greetings or poetry readings or sample pronounciations at the ...
