Thanks for the link Orce, but I suspect it might be a little outdated...I mean, a 9/11 prayer in 2005?

Edited: as I suspected - their last update was 3/17/02. 8)

Great idea Atticus. The summer is when most would be able to be free. I'll resurrect this then.

Textual Criticism?

I'm trying to allocate resources for Textual Criticism and Juvenal. I've decided to pick him for my major translation and want to get the best copy of his work. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Chris

PS - When I'm done, I'll present it to SVR in the form of an essay.

You've got to be kidding me! It works perfectly for me. Is anyone else having this trouble?

My sincere apologies, I realized that people who wanted to see the site without signing up couldn't. That is now fixed for those who wish to view contents before signing up.

Mea culpa, mea culpa.

Forgive,

Hannibal ad portas! You're right Claudius, it's a sad state American society has gotten into.

I thought I did specify that in my post "metal (iron)" - but hey, we all overlook things ;)

ice is κρύσταλλος, hence crystal, and metal (iron) is σίδηρος.

Ha! Where did you hear about my strict standards of translation? Did I already mention them on this board?

I doubt they knew them very well, why else would Pliny the Elder go to the mountain to investigate (being a naturalist and all).
