Vulcanus was the God of the Forge and IIRC personified as a volcano, but think, volcanoes didn't need to exist until after 79 AD. Vesuvius was merely a mons.

If I'm not mistaken, Lupercalia was acutally on the fifteeneth of February, or fifteen days before the Martial Kalends.

Didn't Caesar and Eutropius mention something about commanders and treaties? Taxes maybe? I can't remember off the top of my head...

If you learn the unicode you could figure it out. I'd do it, but there are so many Luo Ma's that I can't figure out which one is which!

Yes, I've posted and still post at TextKit before, though I find the general academic tone to be less than what I'm looking for in scholasticism, I still frequent it to look for any subject matter that might interest me still.

The Etruscans Begin to Speak

Has anyone read this book by Zacharie Mayani? He makes a very convincing argument that Etruscan is actually from the Illyrian/Thracian family, with the only modern descendant being Albanian. Anyone like to discuss this?

heh, you've actually got me totally stumped. I'd never thought of this before. It should be socitas, just like bonitas etc... Let me do some googling and see if I can come up with anything.

Oh, and welcome to SVR!

I do recall that about the Romans in China, and something else about Mediterranean blood mixed in Japan? You know, dark curly hair... I wonder what the human mapping genome has brought.

most capable emporer would easily be Augustus, with Constantine running a close second. However, my favorite emporer would be Marcus Aurelius.
