I agree that the CD is well worth it, but caution that the selections on the website have different titles on the CD and the lengths of the tunes on the CD jacket are all wrong. Otherwise a well researched and musically pleasant effort.
Yes, most of the "snack bars" at Pompeii were found with amphorae of wine stacked in the back. They differ from pubs, however, in that the bars were on the sidewalk so patrons did not actually enter the premises. Wouldn't work in rainy Belgium or England.
