Salvete!

From September 15 until September 21, I will be unavailable. I'll be spending some time at the coast, like other years.

I will also be less available from this evening until the 15th, since I will be at Ariadne Dionysia's appartment.

Valete,
Draco

Salvete,

The same goes for Atticus and me...about spending time at the coast I mean, not at Ariadne's appartment, Draco might frown upon that 8)

Lupus

You will have earned a little rest, I think...

It seems everyone is travelling and enjoying themselves. I am indeed envious.

So, as said, after a short period of adsentia I will be absent again until monday.

Salve Locate,

seeing as Draco's absent, I'll play German inquisition. It should be
"Ich bin Berliner" (yes, a certain American president made a mistake :) )

Because if you say "...ein Berliner", then this would mean that you are in fact somekind of cake (Berliner bol for the Dutch speaking among us).

Vale bene!

Yes, but that still doesn't explain "ad-sentia"!

In...the dictionary,

Salvete,

I will be unavailable from this evening until Monday November 15. The results of the circenses will thus be delayed a bit.

Actually, it is a common mistake to think that ein Berliner only refers to the "donut" - it in fact is correct, though the usage is somewhat less common. I suppose it would be as a Brit asking for a fag when he means a cigarrette. In may confuse some people...

Was I mistaken? If I were, I apologize, I received that information from someone else...

I for my part just returned from a city-trip to Berlin yesterday. Beautiful city. Among other non-ancient things we saw the Pergamon Museum (with the Pergamon Altar, the market-gate from Miletus, the Ishtar gate etc.), the Altes Museum (mostly ancient vases and statues, including the famous Pericles bust) and the Ägyptisches Museum (including the famous bust of Nefertiti). So, enough for any classics enthousiast to make a visit worthwile !

Nobody knows for sure, there seem to be a lot of users on-line lately. At first we thought there was somekind of "glitch" that made one user show up as multiple users, however, whenever I check who is on-line, their IP numbers are different.

So it seems our site has become quite popular all of a sudden for some unknown reason. Not that it hate that
