Salvete,
I have a few questions related to my recent reading of six of Plutarch's lives.
Firstly, Plutarch says that Marius and Publius Rutilius Rufus had a private quarrel, when I had been under the impression that they were good friends. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
Secondly, Plutarch reminded me that Quintus Cicero was killed as a result of his relation to his brother. Who was he killed by? It seems illogical for the Caesareans to have killed Quintus, since he was a loyal Caesarean himself, and had served in Gallic Wars.
And finally, apparently Marius hid Sulla when the people were looking for him, just before Sulla led his army on Roma. Is this story confirmed, unconfirmed, or dismissed as nonsense?
Many thanks!
Bene valete,
Marcus Scribonius Curio Britannicus.
