Salvete, new amici; tell us a bit about yourselves! But this is no ordinary Intro forum; you will learn quite a bit about the rest of us too. >({|:-)

I'm Back!

Postby Quintus Servilius Priscus on Fri Dec 26, 2003 8:38 pm

:D After a short absence(and having my membership in SVR expire) I
have returned. When I was here before I was a member of Gens Claudia,
but now I a Cornelian. The name I have assumed is very historically
accurate. Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus held the Office of Consul twice and
when he died(of natural causes) he was one of the richest men in Rome.
I am very glad to be back.

Gnaeus Cornelius Lentulus

PS: I am also a member of Nova Roma(a Propraetor, so don't hold it against me).

Salve!

Appius Claudius Falco, wasn't it? In any case, welcome back! ;) If you need to know anything, just ask.

Vale bene,

Yes, I was Appius. When I decided to come back I looked on the Gens
page and said "Ummmm, WHAT no Cornelians?". But now there is(if only one).

Let's all panic now...[g]

** A certain Wolf approaches the Forum, sniffing most carefully. **

A Cornelian, and from the Other Place?

Does anyone remember how they used to spontaneously-generate in that environment...? Na...? Just me...?

[chuckle] Hmm...methinks the Dionysian Empire could be in for a run for its money once our Cornelii get up to breeding strength...

I promise(fingers crossed) not to cause a Cornelian Flood to SVR.
I am going to let selected people know of the birth of the Gens at SVR
but, I will NOT intentionally cause a population explosion. I do
not want to make SVR a "OP" Clone. Due to the just held elections there
is a lot of bad name calling and infighting going on. I look upon the
calm and quiet of SVR as a haven.

Salve Gnaeaeaeaeae (Draco, this is an invitation for the Latin Inquisition to remind me how this one works!) Corneli Lentule,

It's good to see you back! I'll be impressed if you can make a similar Cornelian gens here in SVR to that of the OP, given how impressed everyone here is with the OP Cornelian gens.

And I agree with you entirely on the subject of the recent elections in OP. The latest fashionable insult is, (To a non-taxpayer, the lowest form of life) "Just the kind of answer I'd expect from the Capite Censi." Just amazing.

Bene vale,

Well, I've had second thought's about asking anyone to come from the
"Other Gens". I'm not going to ask anyone, I'll just wait and see if there
are any that come over because of all the backbiting and backstabbing.
Surely some will want a change to a more amiable atmosphere. If some
do, hopefully we'll get the creme of the crop.
I do plan(for now at least) to remain in both organizations.

A flood of Cornelii eh? The Dionysian Empire is prepared! ;) Yes, here gens Dionysia is the largest and most active gens, with the branch of Mus-Mencius and then the three Dracones (to which I obviously belong). Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it here.

YARRRR! Following the exception on the rule, the vocative of <Gnaeus> would normally be <Gnaei> but since it's an exception on an exception, it follows the normal rule and thus becomes <Gnae>.

Too funny, considering that everyone insists on using this terrible macaroni-Latin (Capite Censi??) that would have given Cicero a heart-attack.

You got it!

Well, anyone and everyone is welcome here. But I doubt that the viler characters of the OP will ever come here. It would be fun if they did, however...
