I finally found ya's an even outside the United States; this one's for the British contingent and anyone who'd like to join them.
Roman activities in the Chester City Council Exhibitions and Events leaflet, June to September ( http://www.chester.gov.uk ):
- Mondays through Fridays until 6 July: Archaeologists in the Park
- Various days in June & July: The Deva Victix Roman Military Display team
- July 14 & 15: National Archaeology Days.
Chester/Deva was the headquarters of the Legio XX Valeria Victrix; in Stephen Vincent Benet's words, "It takes a Legion with men in it to hold the Northwest." Much of the north wall of the fortress is still visible, as are several excellent Legionary grave-markers.
