Salvete,

Does anyone know where to find a translation (English, French or Dutch) of the Epodon Liber (or Epodes) of Horatius on the Internet ? I've tried to find it, but to no avail.

There is a selection of some of the Epodes in English translation at Diotima

http://www.stoa.org/diotima/anthology/quinn.shtml

When doing websearches I use http://www.dogpile.com which goes through several search engines at once.

Salve Piscine,

Eagerly I clicked the link,
With great anticipation I scrolled down,
Looking for Epodes 13 and 16,
Down I went, Epode 11, Epode 12,
But, alas, no Epode 13.

Even deeper then I went,
Surely Epode 16 would be there,
That would make up for lost 13,
Down I went, Epode 14, Epode 15,
But, alas, no Epode 16.

So, thanks for the trouble, it's an excellent site otherwise, but the search continues, perhaps I can find something with this dogpile...what a name

(ps: before I am accused of crimes against English and Literature in general, the above was not an attempt at a poem at all, I had a long day, it's getting rather late...you get the picture  )

Salve Lupe,

You can find Leconte de Lisle's (himself a famed poet) translation into French at
http://agoraclass.fltr.ucl.ac.be/concordances/horace_epodes/lecture/default.htm.

Vale bene,
