Salve Lucius

You can always look at our site, the collegia section of SVR: http://www.societasviaromana.org/Collegium_Religionis/index.php
here you will find essays written by members and links to other sites.

Salve Orce,

If I may for once act as an officer of SVR's dreaded Latin Inquisition, allow me to correct the opening of your posting, which should be "Salve Luci" in the vocative case, in this case even an 'exceptional' vocative, since male words ending on -ius in their nominative form have a vocative on -i, not on -e.

Salvete omnes,

Yeah, and not to be an asshole, but Lucius also made a mistake. You can't start a posting with "salvete" and end with "vale". It has to be plural/plural or singular/singular.

Salve Luci Severe

How helpful the Latin Inquisition can be at times.

By asking for "liturgical forms" you make it sound very formal. There can be highly formal rites in the religio, as with the inscriptions of the Fratres Arvales. As it happens, I am presently working on translating one and it is mind-numbing how formal the prayers of the inscription are made. On the boards for Col Rel I have placed a number of my translations of Roman prayers to give you an idea of the scope Roman rites can take. Latin versions can be found at the Latin Library. At the web page for Col Rel there are some reconstructed rites for specific festival days. The model of a Roman rite used by most reconstruction is that offered by the rites of Cato in De Agricultura 134, 139-40 and 141. There is available on our website a translation of Agr 141, with the Latin text as well, and then on our boards are also the others.

The first thing I would want to know is if you are looking for ancient examples alone or reconstructionist, and how formal do you wish to go? In either case it would take some explanation as to what is being performed. That I may help you with if you have questions.

Vale optime
