Just to confuse y'all further...

Salvete, omnes!

Well, after having received an encouraging shot in the arm from our faithful Aldus Marius and after having found historical reference to two, count 'em, TWO ancient Roman ladies named Melania, I have decided to revert to my original choice of cognomen.

But if you don't know what to call me, "Hey, you" will work just fine.

Sorry for the confusion, thanks for putting up with me!

Valete!

My name

Agricola Cordo sal.

Well I had help with my roman name, when I joined up with NR they gave me three choices, and the name I chose was the closest to my real name.

Giuliano Taverna becomes Gaius Iulius Taberna.

I like it, I think it suits me.

Hmm, Medusa gladiatrix, I had overlooked your post. Now I know what to bring if I ever have to fight you: a mirror!

Salvete omnes!

I haven't even formally introduced myself, and here I go resurrecting a 10-month old thread. 8)

Publius Valerius Regulus wasn't terribly difficult for me to figure out. Publius, because I love politics and touches on the meaning of my first name (Nicholas, "victory of the people"). Valerius, because it is thoroughly Roman and, in a roundabout abstract way blends my RL first name and surname in meaning and phonetics. Regulus, is closer in meaning to my surname, and the diminutive appeals to my Gen X modesty/irony.

Thus, Publius Valerius Regulus - a touch arrogant, unabashedly Roman, and like a good Roman obsessed with politics.
