Salvete Romani,

the feet of a statue were found in Britain and those feet were wearing sandals and *gasp* socks.

According to BBC news this means the Romans' poor dress sense can now be added to the list of things the Romans gave to the world.

Pffft...only the Brits would knock a man's fashion sense when all he was doing (poor thing) was dressing for the miserable weather!! I mean, what would you do, if all Mother Roma saw fit to issue you was sandals, and then She sent you to a land where mushrooms were rumored to grow between a man's toes??! Makes those barbarian braccae and tibialia look mighty tempting... >({|:-p
