the Tau Cross

wondering what any of you could tell me about the Tau cross...
All i know is it is T shaped and has pagan origins.

It does? I have read some 19th century speculation on it representing male genitilia. I have seen it in the case of an image of Orpheus hung on a tau cross. It was later associated with the Christian pilgrim Anthony of Egypt, but I am not aware of any direct connection there. Could you explain something of this?
