Rennaissance in Dacia

I've been wanting for quite some time now to hold a nice roman re-enacting festival with legionnaires, crafting tents, etc. Thing is i know no re-enactors or smiths at least to start my own crew... So my question is, what groups are there in Europe (the closer to Romania, the better). I'll search for sponsorship (if you have ideas of international sponsors, let me know) and make a nice project...

PS: this is just an idea right now... obviously i can't promise anything, but in theory we could actually do this, would be one of the few if not the only roman festival in Romania, and surely the first in western Romania (where i'm from).

Salve Tiberi Iuli Drace,

The following group is from Austria:

And if you need gladiators I could recommend my own group (located in North and South-West Germany) LVDVS NEMESIS (here some general info about us) (this leads you directly to some pics and videos from our first gig)

Salve Iuli Draco,

the biggest european roman re-enactor festival is going to take place in Novae (Svishtov) in Bulgaria on June 27-29.
There are going to be almost 350 legionaries.

Details can be found at

I suggest you go there before trying to organize something on your own.
If you need a lift from Bucarest you should contact Titus Iulius Sabinus, one of the consuls of Nova Roma, who lives in Bucarest and will be going to the festival, along with myself and other people.

You find his email address on this page:

It would be a good idea for you to join Nova Roma, because Dacia is one of the most active provinces, and you will find a lot of like-minded people there.

Optime vale,
