Ludi Societatis 2757

Our calendar for 2757:
Newcomer Pericolosus takes everyone by storm and wins the Carmentalia. Factio Albata shows no signs of weakness and dominantly enters the new calendar year. Signs of improvement in factio Veneta.
The Albata success-story is continued: the other factiones watch helplessly as factio Albata skyrockets to the top once again and Pericolosus wins for the second time. Again, hopeful signs for factio Veneta. Only factio Aurata can somewhat withstand the White Fury. Bad results for factio Purpurea.
Romulus comes back with a vengeance and breaks Albata's winning streak. Good races for factio Russata as well. Anything is still possible.
Pericolosus grabs his third victory and confirms Albata's leading status.
Newcomers Trophimus (Praesina) and Rufus Pavor (Purpurea) make a more than impressive debut.
Factio Russata strengthens its position, while it's another big disappointment for factio Veneta. Factio Aurata on their way down.
Albata wins once more, this time Damnator. Good races for all factiones, except factio Aurata, who continue to bumble. Only Russata may be able to catch up with the leaders right now. These ludi also saw the introduction of gladiators.
Rufus Pavor of factio Purpurea wins and the entire factio profits greatly from this, although the races were much dominated by the Whites once more. Factio Russata seems to be squandering its chances to snatch away its title. Factio Veneta confirms its rise, while Aurata continues to disappoint.
Once again Rufus Pavor surprises all and wins his second victory in a row. Good races for factio Russata and Veneta as well, with minor accidents for Aurata. The Greens seem to be in a steady state of decline: what might stop them? Factio Albata loses a charioteer due to a sponsor's inactivity, but remains on top of the rankings.
In a grueling tempest, the great victors of these circenses are factio Russata and factio Albata, both of which are in a tight match for this year's title. Winner of the ludi Plebeii is Callidus of Russata, but the moral victor is Damnator, who has now collected enough points to ensure his second title as champion.
The last races of the year are once again won by factio Russata, this time by its former star charioteer Maximus. Still, their victory cannot prevent factio Albata from winning the factio title as well, although by an infinitely small margin. Better luck next year!

Factio Albata

Factio Albata, or the whites, were one of the oldest teams in ancient Rome and probably referred to the winter as a season. However, they were usually not the strongest. Can their SVR heirs bring Albata back to its former glory and even surpass it?

Factio Aurata

Factio Aurata only had a brief existence, during the reign of emperor Domitianus (81-96) and appears never to have been very popular, possibly because it was sponsered by an impopular emperor. Perhaps SVR's heir can cleanse its reputation and grow out to be the most popular?

Back in the old days, Factio Praesina referred to the spring as one of the four seasons. Throughout Rome's history, both republican and imperial, the green faction was usually the strongest and most popular. SVR's greens have a heavy legacy to live up to!

Like Aurata, the golden faction, the Purpurea or purple faction was created by emperor Domitianus and was, perhaps even more than Aurata, identified with the imperial powers. Can the new Purpurea boost their reputation and show us they're here to stay?

Factio Russata

Factio Russata, or the reds, refer to the heat of the summer. They were probably one of the oldest factions together with Albata, but appear never to have been one of the greatest yet ever and always present. Will this change, here in SVR? Who knows!

In ancient Rome, factio Veneta, the blues, referred to autumn. The blues were the sworn enemies of the greens, although latter faction was more popular with the people. Perhaps Veneta can finally take revenge in SVR and rise to number one position?
